STEM Institute Program Director's Welcome
Welcome to the STEM Institute at Newton College and Career Academy, the first STEM certified college and career academy program in Georgia. Our four-year program focuses on Biotechnology and Engineering serving students from all three local high schools in the district. At its heart, STEM is about solving real-world problems. The world needs more graduates with the skills to identify problems, design prototypes, visualize and implement solutions. During their time at the institute, students meet and interact with other students and adults in a challenging academic environment that facilitates and encourages exploration and understanding of advanced topics in science, technology, engineering and mathematics—disciplines collectively known as STEM. Upon completion of our program, students will have an increased awareness of STEM and related careers, pursue the necessary education to participate in those careers, and develop the content and skills needed for successfully entering the STEM workforce of the future.
